HISTORY
The Blue Clay People are long gone, their homes and maker sites destroyed by fire storms after a meteor strike. Their few descendants, from those adopted after the cataclysm by other tribes, have mostly lost the secrets of the spirit clay and of their own identity. The poem below memorializes their making and trading and their influence on other tribes and peoples during ancient times. Blue Clay - not forgot.

"Blue clay bides near the waters here,
strong and pure close to the rock,
covered with pebbles and small debris above.
It sings in the dark of old stories:
war and glory, fire across the water,
strong hands shaping pots.
Blue clay carried in skins dipped in water
far across the desert to trade long ago
came home years after
in bride beads and trade jars
hand painted with pleasure
stored now as treasure
enduring forever:
blue clay not forgot."
